Purdy Crawford invests in learning commons for law students
Purdy Crawford (LLB‘56, LLD’91) is the quintessential philanthropist. He has generously supported many worthy causes here at Dal’s law school.
His most recent gift of $100,000 will transform the main floor of the library into a multifunctional learning area to be known as the Crawford Learning Commons. This area will provide high quality circulation and technical research support for students and create better student-shared workspaces. Technological enhancements throughout the library will help students’ research in some key locations.
Dean Kim Brooks remarks, “I’m really excited by the idea: it has been some time since we enhanced our library space … students will unquestionably find this to be an excellent development.”
Renovations are slated to begin May 2013.
