Diversity in Health Care

Support the Dal campaign that encourages and supports Aboriginal and African Nova Scotian students in pursuing careers in health care.
“Programs such as this will help support and encourage students like me to enter the health professions. As a young Black woman, when I see a Black female physician, it feels like they are my role model. I want others to see the same in me.”   — Dr. Leah Jones (MD’18, BSc’13).

A stronger health care system for all

The American-based Johnson Foundation, in partnership with Dalhousie University, will help PLANS and AHSI provide a combination of outreach, mentorship, and financial support to students in an effort to help address the cultural disparity in Nova Scotia’s health care system. This will lead to improved and more inclusive health care for all.
