Dr. Rajender Parkash and his wife, Dr. Asha Parkash, have taken steps to ease the financial burden of students entering the field of nursing.

The doctors have endowed a $50,000 fund. Beginning next fall, a deserving first-year student will receive $1,500 toward their education.

Rajender Parkash is a former chief of staff at Yarmouth Regional Hospital. The award has been established to support students based at Dalhousie’s Yarmouth campus.
