A trailblazing astronaut, a world-renowned cell biologist and a rock music powerhouse are among the famous faces to have walked Dalhousie’s halls.

These include Sloan’s Chris Murphy (BA’90), cell biologist Dr. Nancy Jane Lane (BSc’58, MSc’60, LLD’85) and Dr. Kathryn Sullivan (PhD’78, LLD’85), the first American woman to walk in space.

“This university has been around since 1818,” says Floyd Dykeman, Dalhousie’s vice president external. “So there’s no shortage of good examples for our students.”
