Event Details

Please join the Faculty of Science and the Faculty of Arts and Social Sciences this summer for a four-hour guided kayak tour with East Coast Outfitters and Seacology. This event will provide a great opportunity for our alumni to reconnect while enjoying the beautiful coastal scenery of Lower Prospect, NS. It will also provide participants the opportunity to learn from three of our wonderful faculty members who will join us on the tour: Boris Worm, Ecological oceanographer, and CBC Mainstreet’s “Ocean’s Guy”; Heike Lotz, Canada Research Chair in Marine Renewable Resources; and Howard Ramos, Department of Sociology and Social Anthropology. These faculty members will casually discuss a variety of topics including marine, coastal, island and plant ecology, ecological history of coastal regions, climate change, and more.

Please arrive by 9:15 a.m. so we can be on the water by 10 a.m. A detailed email will be sent prior to the day of the event.
