The Faculty of Computer Science invites you – alumni, students, industry partners and the public – to roam around our Goldberg Computer Science Building to learn more about us.

You will see an array of work and spaces in the Goldberg Computer Science Building and have the opportunity to hear from, meet & learn from our profs, students and staff.

Visual Text Analytics Project

Visual text analytics integrates the analytic capabilities of the computer with the cognitive and perceptual abilities of the human analyst. It empowers domain experts to uncover insights hidden in masses of text. Of particular interest are relations between the free text and the structured part of documents.

Machine Learning and Networked Information Spaces (MALNIS) Lab

The lab focuses on the application of machine learning, graph theory, and natural language processing in problems in networked information spaces. Spaces of particular interest include the scientific and medical research literature, the Web, and corporate Web spaces.

Institute for Big Data Analytics

The Institute creates knowledge and expertise in the field of Big Data Analytics by facilitating fundamental, interdisciplinary, and collaborative research, advanced applications, advanced training, and partnerships with industry. (4th floor, room 432)

NICHE Lab / Master of Health Informatics

Research in the areas of health informatics, knowledge management, semantic web and health data analytics. Health Informatics is interdisciplinary where computer science, health informatics, and medical researchers collaborate to develop real-life intelligent, personalized, mobile and agile healthcare solutions to improve the Canadian healthcare system.

ShiftKey Labs

This ICT sandbox offers a broad mix of resources, supports, and opportunities for individuals wishing to experiment with and develop start-up ideas containing a technical component. It is a free, physical space to collaborate on ideas within a team and learn from other lab resident teams.
