Dentistry Homecoming events

Join alumni, faculty, staff and students to celebrate Homecoming 2017 with the Faculty of Dentistry.

Events include:
  • DDS Class of 1967’s 50th anniversary reunion luncheon (Thursday, Oct. 12, 12:30 – 2 p.m., Dentistry Building)
    Reunion luncheon and tour for our 50th anniversary graduating class.
  • JD McLean Lecture featuring Ray Ivany (Friday, Oct. 13, 12 – 1 p.m., CHEB 170)
    The title of the lecture is: “Leadership Roles for Dental Professionals in Civil Society; An Atlantic Canadian Perspective.” Mr. Ivany, who chaired the Nova Scotia Commission on Building our New Economy, argues that the economic and demographic realities of Atlantic Canada require a profound shift in direction in many aspects of our society. His lecture will draw on Dr. J.D. McLean’s belief in broadening the Dalhousie Dental School curriculum to explore potential roles for modern dental professionals in shaping a more dynamic and prosperous agenda for our region.
    Open Dialogue logoOpen Dialogue events bring members of the Dal community together to collaborate, discuss, challenge and otherwise engage in meaningful and thoughtful conversation on topics ranging from current issues to historical events.
  • Continuing Education Sessions (Saturday, Oct. 14, 9 a.m. – 4 p.m., Dentistry Building)
    A series of continuing dental education courses for oral health professionals.
