Help us create a living legacy. Led by urban forest researcher Peter Duinker, the Faculty of Management is partnering with Facilities Management, the Office of Sustainability and the Halifax Regional Municipality, to plant 200 trees across the Studley and Sexton campuses for Dal’s 200th anniversary. Students for generations to come will be able to take advantage of our “learning groves”: active learning environments where classes can learn to identify native species and observe associations between them.

Event details

Participants will meet at the Kenneth C. Rowe Management Building at 9 am where we will divide into teams and travel to work sites.

No experience necessary: student team leaders knowledgeable in urban forestry, tree planting and tree identification will be on site at each planting location.

This event will take place rain or shine. Please dress for the weather and wear close-toe shoes.

Tools will be provided, but you are encouraged to bring work gloves if you have them (extras will be provided on site).

We will meet back at the Rowe Building when work is complete for a pizza celebration.
