Washington D.C. Alumni Ambassador

Natasha Daly, a Toronto native, graduated from Dalhousie in 2007 with her Bachelor of Arts in history.

She is a writer and editor at National Geographic magazine in Washington, DC, where she primarily covers animal welfare and exploitation. Her largest investigative story to date will be published in the June 2019 issue of the magazine.

She was awarded Reporter of the Year in 2017 by the Humane Society of the United States for her animal welfare coverage, and is a recipient of a 2017 Society for Environmental Journalism storytelling grant.

She has lived in Washington, DC for six years. Before joining National Geographic in 2015, she worked as an editor for the Inter-American Development Bank and for a Japanese transportation policy nonprofit. She also spent several years teaching and writing in South Korea.
