Halifax Chapter meets downtown to check out The Roy

Halifax is experiencing an incredible period of development and investment in its downtown core, including the luxury 22-storey Roy building, one of the city’s newest premier condo buildings. It was there that the Dal Alumni Halifax Chapter hosted an evening of light hors d’oeuvres, refreshments and conversation on the topic “Current design trends in downtown Halifax” with award-winning local architect Eugene Pieczonka.

New technology keeps parents connected with their newborn’s neonatal care

Research shows that increased parental involvement in neonatal care improves outcomes for infants and their families. That’s why Dr. Marsha Campbell-Yeo (BN’87, MN’99) of Dal’s School of Nursing is collaborating with peers at the IWK Health Centre and other partners on a new virtual platform — one that just received a $3M investment from the Government of Canada.

Herzberg Gold Medal winner Jeff Dahn

Battery researcher Jeff Dahn wins Herzberg Gold Medal

His team has developed lithium-ion battery technology used around the world today. Now, Jeff Dahn (BSc’78) (NSERC/Tesla Canada Industrial Research Chair) is this year’s recipient of the Herzberg Gold Medal, Canada’s top award for scientific achievement. His win is Dalhousie’s third Herzberg medal in four years.
