Robyn McCallum conducting bee research

Robyn McCallum (BScAg’13) an apiculturist at the Perennia Innovation Centre, is exploring native bee populations — work that could have a positive impact on blueberry production in N.S. She is expected to defend her thesis, Enhancing Lowbush Blueberry Agroecosystems for Wild Pollinators and Natural Enemies, later this spring. On blueberry and other farms, bees do the important work of pollinating the plants’ flowers so they can bear fruit

McCallum is part of a farming family who are making their mark on agriculture in Atlantic Canada.
