A Dalhousie alumnus is among a group of six young people from Halifax who have opted to stay in Nepal to assist with relief efforts, rather than be evacuated. Mitchell Pineo (BMGT’14) is a Halifax DJ who was in Kathmandu on April 25 when the 7.8 magnitude earthquake struck. He and fellow DJ, JR Loeb have extended their three-day tour, staying with a Nepali in Kathmandu who has offered his home as a relief camp. Soon, the group will leave for a town two hours outside of Kathmandu that aide workers have not yet reached.
