Darrell Dexter (BA'79, BEd'83, LLB'87)

The Honourable Darrell Dexter (BA’79, BEd’83, LLB’87) has recently accepted a position with Global Public Affairs, a private firm that focuses on integrated government relations, strategic communications and management consulting.

Having served as Nova Scotia’s 27th premier and first New Democratic premier from 2009 to 2013, Dexter will begin his role as vice chair for Global Public Affairs this month.

After completing three degrees at Dalhousie in Arts, Education and Law, as well as a Bachelor of Journalism from University of King’s College, Dexter went on to work as a lawyer, as a journalist, and in the Canadian Armed Forces before delving into politics.

According to Global Public Affairs president and CEO Randy Pettipas, the firm is honoured to have the former premier and accomplished professional join their team.
