Alex Mifflin (BA'08)

Alex Mifflin (BA’08) has found a unique and fulfilling way to apply his degree in international development and environmental studies. Mifflin created his own ideal job by pairing with his brother Tyler to develop The Water Brothers, an award-winning television series investigating the role of water in peoples’ lives around the world. The series is now in its third season and has taken the brothers, co-hosts and co-directors to places including Kenya, Cambodia, Belize, and Canada’s West Coast.

Through the series, Mifflin is able to focus on the international development issues that truly interest him. By investigating the immense impacts of water stresses on marginalized populations, he helps shed a light on developmental and environmental issues around the world. Mifflin feels privileged to be able to share the theories he learned in his Dalhousie education through a real-world lens with a global audience in over 40 countries.
