Brenda Picard, Q.C. (BA'82, LLB'85)

Following a lengthy career in legal aid, Brenda Picard, Q.C. (BA’82, LLB’85) is helping the residents of Prince Edward Island in a new way: she was recently appointed executive director of the P.E.I. Human Rights Commission.

Picard spoke to The Guardian about what led her to study law, and how she is adjusting to the “learning curve” of her new position.
