Jean-Paul Deveau (BSc’79, BEng (TUNS)’81) and his father, Louis Deveau (BEng (NSTC)’57, LLD’07) are recognized for helping to establish the Canadian seaweed industry with Acadian Seaplants Ltd. The company employees over 300 people in eight countries, plus over 500 seasonal harvesters.

Clearwater Seafood Inc.’s chairman and co-founder, Colin MacDonald (BSc’73, LLD’04) is also co-owner and director of Clearwater Fine Foods Inc.

Honourary degree recipient, Michael Duck (LLD’11) is founder of SureShot Solutions Inc., notable for inventing the first portion-controlled cream dispenser used in larger restaurant chains.

Jointly with Junior Achievement of Nova Scotia, a gala event will be held on May 28 in Halifax to formally mark the induction.
