Sean Sears, sageCrowd CEOSean Sears (MBA’89), an alumnus of Dalhousie’s Starting Lean program, is confident that sageCrowd is on the path to success. Sears is CEO of the Halifax company, an e-learning platform that provides competency-based skills training to corporations, particularly in the areas of sales and innovation. Since changing course several times, the company is gearing up, recently closing an additional $750,000 in seed capital. SageCrowd will also be heading to Boston to attend the incubator LearnLaunch to advise entrepreneurs, and to participate in a four-month acceleration program through the Canadian Technology Accelerator in the city.

One of the first companies to apply learning science to corporate training, sageCrowd works with well-known authors to deliver online content developed through its Insight-Scaffolding algorithm. Its method is based in behavioural economics, psychology and neuroscience to mimic the way people learn.
