Halifax-based entertainment company DHX Media Ltd. is experiencing record growth. During the fiscal year 2015, the firm saw profits increase 150 percent, while revenues followed with a 127 percent increase.

The company specializes in children’s and family entertainment for international audiences.

According to Michael Donovan (BA’74, LLB’77, LLD’04), DHX Media’s co-founder and board executive chairman, the company’s success points to the strength of their integrated platform and programming library.

The firm’s acquisition of DHX Television, owner of the Family Channel, Disney XD and Disney Jr., in July 2014 is credited as an important contribution to the growth in revenues.

DHX Media also recently acquired China’s Alibaba Group, which is expected to become a pillar of the firm’s long-term success as it continues to expand into international markets.
