Two Dalhousie alumni, Dr. Nick Nickerson (PhD (Earth Sciences)’14) and Dr. David Risk (PhD (Earth Sciences)’06) of Eosense, are gaining recognition for their involvement in the release of an innovative new technology.eosense

The Dartmouth-based company is launching a product that serves as a portable soil carbon dioxide flux sensor. Last week, Eosense released two products that support the greenhouse gas analyzers produced by California-based Los Gatos Research.

“The eosFD is why we created this company; it’s the first commercial sensor to change the way flux is measured,” said Nickerson, Eosense’s chief scientist, in a media release.

Risk says that the diffusion technology was developed in order to measure carbon dioxide in soil within harsh environments.
