Dr. Michael Fleming (MD'78, PGM'80)The College of Family Physicians of Canada has named Dr. Michael Fleming (MD’78, PGM’80) Nova Scotia’s family doctor of the year.

Dr. Fleming earned his medical degree at Dalhousie in 1978, completing his family medicine residency at Dal in 1980. For the past thirty five years, he has practiced comprehensive family medicine at the Fall River Family Practice.

He has also enjoyed hospital privileges at several Nova Scotia hospitals, including Grace Maternity Hospital, Victoria General Hospital, and Camp Hill Hospital (now Queen Elizabeth II Health Sciences Centre).

Dr. Fleming has also established an impressive teaching career with Dalhousie’s Faculty of Medicine. He is now Director of Family Medicine Programs and Assistant Professor with Dalhousie’s Division of Medical Education.
