Dr. Michelle Dow (MD’87, PGM’88) was recently named President of Doctors Nova Scotia. She will occupy the position for the 2016-17 term.

According to Doctors Nova Scotia, “over the past 28 years, Dr. Dow’s wide-ranging career has uniquely prepared her to be President of Doctors Nova Scotia.”

Dr. Dow is a family physician who began her career practicing in rural Church Point, N.S. She transitioned to Woodlawn Health Centre in Dartmouth, N.S. in 2005 and now works at a collaborative-care clinic in Meteghen Centre, N.S.

Before being elected president, Dr. Dow served on Doctors Nova Scotia’s Board of Directors and as a member of the association’s Information Technology Steering Committee.
