Chris Oram (BSc (Agriculture)’11) is working with the Canadian Young Farmers Forum to organize events in Corner Brook and St. John’s, Newfoundland, aiming to engage young people seeking information regarding careers in agriculture.

Oram, who enjoys being his own boss and being outside everyday, is happy with his job. He believes that the current lack of young people in the industry may be a threat to local food security.

“If there is no one coming up through that wants to go farming, then we won’t have an industry [any] more,” said Oram in an interview with CBC News.
