Andrew Cochran, BA'73, MEC'05

Veteran journalist Andrew Cochran’s (BA’73, MEC’05) career path has taken yet another exciting turn. This month, Cochran begins a new role with CBC in Toronto, where he will implement Strategy 2020, a five-year “survival plan” for CBC News and its local services.

Cochran has already helped create the potentially transformative strategic document. Upcoming tasks include locating new revenue sources and facilitating moves to more affordable CBC facilities.

“Every dollar that we’re saving on infrastructure we can devote to content,” he says.

Cochran began his career as a youth reporter at CBC in the 1960s. His roles since include executive producer at CTV, associate producer of Canada AM and regional director of TV for the Maritimes at CBC.
