Author Carol BruneauAuthor Carol Bruneau (BA’77, MA’81) is set to launch her new novel, These Good Hands (Cormorant Books) on tragic French sculptor Camille Claudel. Ten years in the works, Bruneau was inspired by Claudel’s “stunning” bronze and marble sculptures, which she saw in Halifax and France. However, Claudel developed paranoia when her affair with French sculptor, Auguste Rodin ended and she spent her last 30 years in a mental asylum. Bruneau hopes her novel will bring more international recognition to Claudel’s work.

Bruneau also wrote Glass Voices, inspired by the Halifax Explosion, Berth, and Purple for Sky.
