Brian MacKay-Lyons (BSc’73, BEDS’77, BArch’78) and Talbot Sweetapple (BA’92, BEDS’95, MARFP’97) are the founding partners of MacKay-Lyons Sweetapple Architects Limited. The firm has garnered over 100 awards for excellence in design.

Most recently, MacKay-Lyons Sweetapple was named:

• an RAIC Firm Award winner
• an Architizer Public Choice Award winner for Two Hulls House
• an AZ Award Finalist for Cliff House
• a Mies Crown Hall Architecture Prize Finalist for Two Hulls House
• a Cornerstone Heritage Award winner for Troop Barn

Both partners are Dalhousie professors. They have designed some of the school’s most familiar structures, including the Goldberg Computer Science Building and the former TUNS Faculty of Architecture building.
