Dr.-Andrew-Bennett_215x233Dalhousie alumnus, Dr. Andrew Bennett (BA’95) has been named the federal government’s first ambassador to the Office of Religious Freedom.

When announcing Bennett’s appointment, Prime Minister Stephen Harper said, “Dr. Bennett is a man of principle and deep convictions and he will encourage the protection of religious minorities around the world so all can practice their faith without fear of violence and repression.”

Bennett previously worked as a federal public servant for several years and is currently the dean of Augustine College in Ottawa.
