On November 19, Halifax’s Discovery Centre will present Discovery Awards in Science and Technology to five bright minds.

The Discovery Awards were founded in 2002 as a way to recognize innovation and talent from individuals, companies, universities, and government for national and international work in science and technology.

This year’s finalists include five Dal alumni:

• Dr. Todd Hatchette (BSc’91), in the category of Science Champion
• Dr. Jason Clyburne (PhD’95), in the Professional of Distinction category
• Dr. Orlando Hung (BScPh’79, MD’83, PGM’88), in the Professional of Distinction category
• Dr. Nicholas Nickerson (PhD’14), in the category for Emerging Professional
• Alec Falkenham (BSc’10), in the Emerging Professional category

In addition, Dalhousie professor Dr. Axel Becke is a finalist in the Hall of Fame category.

The Discovery Awards 2015 ceremony will take place at the Halifax Marriott Harbourfront Hotel on November 19. Tickets are available online.
