Stephanie Bohdanow, brownfieldsArchitecture and Planning alumna Stephanie Bohdanow (MPlan’07) is a recipient of the first-ever HUB Awards, presented by The Canadian Brownfields Network (CBN).

Brownfield is land that has been, or is at risk of being, damaged by hazardous waste. CBN created the HUB Awards to recognize ‘Heroes Underpinning Brownfields,’ or individuals working to re-purpose this damaged land.

Bohdanow is employed as a Knowledge Services Advisor at the Federation of Canadian Municipalities’ Green Municipal Fund. Her work involves providing resources about sustainability practices for Canadian municipalities.

In June 2015, she spearheaded the Leadership in Brownfield Renewal program (LiBRe). Through this program, Bohdanow offers municipalities free, cross-country training on brownfield re-development.

The HUB Awards were presented in three categories: foundation, pillar and vision. Bohdanow was recognized in the vision category for her impact as a new-comer in the Brownfield Industry.

The awards were presented in Toronto on June 14.
