Former federal cabinet minister Jim Prentice (LLB’80), Q.C., is under significant pressure to run for premier and Progressive Conservative leader of Alberta.

The recent retirement of premier and PC leader Alison Redford has created an opportunity for Prentice. Widely considered a potential successor to Prime Minister Stephen Harper, Prentice is thought to have one eye on the federal leadership position.

The Alberta PC leadership vote will take place in September.
