NS Human Rights Commission announces alumna as new director
The Nova Scotia Human Rights Commission (NSHRC) has named Christine Hanson (BA’94, LLB’98, MPA’98) as its new director and CEO.
The three-time Dalhousie graduate, born and raised in Halifax, currently works at the Canadian Embassy in Washington, D.C. as minister-counsellor for Congressional and Intergovernmental Affairs. She will begin her new position with the NSHRC on February 8.
In a recent news release, The Honourable Diana Whalen (BA’76, MBA’79), the minister who oversees the Human Rights Commission, expressed her confidence that Hanson will advance human rights in Nova Scotia.
