MacIsaac

Natalie MacIsaac (BA’96) of Horton High School was recently honoured with the 2015 Prime Minister’s Award for Teaching Excellence. She is the only educator from Nova Scotia to receive this award.

“It’s tremendous,” she says of the award. “You know, when you come home exhausted and you have a pile of essays to mark. It’s one of those things that is the fuel to keep going.”

MacIsaac has taught English and Drama in the Annapolis Valley for the past 15 years. Her students have nothing but positive things to say about the Dalhousie grad.

“She’s always happy and so passionate and she shares that with all of her students,” says Lindsay Ross.

“She left me with such a great work ethic and determination to go after what I wanted and never to settle anything less than — my dreams are what I deserve.”

MacIsaac’s award comes with $1000, which she plans to spend on her Drama class.
