President and founder of Verb Interactive, Andy MacLellan (BComm’01), announces the company’s expansion to the West Coast in B.C.

Verb Interactive of Halifax announced Thursday it will open a new office in Victoria, B.C., and operations will begin in the coming weeks.

Verb revealed in a news release that it plans to hire up to 20 local employees in Victoria in its major service offering areas, including web development, design, content marketing, UX, SEO and data science.

Having recently expanded its Halifax office, Andy MacLellan, president and founder of Verb, said in the news release, “the westward expansion is well-timed as the company prepares to announce and begin work on several new relationships in the coming months.”

The West Coast presence complements Verb’s growing partnerships with a number of clients including Tourism Victoria and Destination British Columbia. It will also be closer to several clients in the United States — Pebble Beach Resorts, Napa Valley Wine Train, Amtrak Vacations and Universal Studios Hollywood.

“It’s a huge milestone for our team and we’re excited to take the leap westward,” MacLean said in the release. “While we’ve always worked with clients all over the world from our Halifax office, expanding our team to Victoria was an opportunity we couldn’t overlook any longer.”
