Google for Entrepreneurs selects alum startup
Mark Hobbs (BA (Political Science)’11) and Chris Kolmatycki (BComm’08) are the two Dal alumni behind technology firm Fundmetric that has just been selected for the Google for Entrepreneurs Tenancy Program in Waterloo, Ont. Fundmetric, based in Halifax, uses predictive and analytic algorithms to allow charities to increase and manage donations by tapping into a bigger donor base. Only one of five Canadian startups to participate, Hobbs said the competition was intense and things have moved very quickly since their successful interview mid-August. The program involves six months of mentoring with Google.
