For Courtney Larkin, the Happy Hour Club is about more than passing out business cards and making sales pitches. Founding the women-centred, event-based networking collective in 2018 in Fredericton, Larkin hoped to create a sense of community for female entrepreneurs in New Brunswick. “Whether you were a CEO, or a stay-at-home mom, or a new grad, you would feel welcome,” said Larkin. “You might have the chance to collaborate in some way, but it’s more to feel that you have that connection in your community with like-minded women.”

More than a year later, with four sold-out events under her belt, Larkin has now expanded the club to Saint John, with her first event planned for November.
