Emily Pelley (BA’09) named Young Humanitarian of the Year
The Red Cross has named Emily Pelley (BA’09) its Young Humanitarian of the Year for Nova Scotia.
Pelley completed her Bachelor of Arts in international development in 2009 and is now a doctoral candidate at Dalhousie.
She credits her international development studies at Dal with putting her on a career path towards social justice, building on her longtime passion to make the world a better place.
For her doctoral work, Pelley is investigating the issue of child trafficking during armed conflict. She has worked and volunteered for many advocacy organizations, promoting social justice through both academia and activism.
