Nathan D. Simmons on tour with Canada, It's Complicated

Nathan D. Simmons (BA (Theatre)’17) is starring in the theatrical production, Canada, It’s Complicated. The satirical review by Mary Walsh will tour the country this fall.

Nova Scotia actor Nathan D. Simmons is going on a journey of discovery, thanks to a new project written and produced by Mary Walsh.

He’s on the road with Canada, It’s Complicated, a novel production being overseen by the This Hour Has 22 Minutes and CODCO co-founder.

“It’s definitely an artistic show,” Simmons, 22, said during a phone interview from Corner Brook, N.L.

“It’s hard even for the cast to describe it. Some say it’s like a sketch show, some say it’s like a sitcom, others say it’s more like a revue. For me, I would say it is kind of like a Broadway revue; there’s comedic scenes, then a musical number.”

Canada, It’s Complicated was written in collaboration with comedians, musicians and playwrights from across the country who represent a range of backgrounds.

The show will tour the country for 10 weeks, stopping in every province and territory.
