Janet Maybee (MA'66)

Janet Maybee’s (MA’66) recently published book, Aftershock: The Halifax Explosion and the Persecution of Pilot Francis Mackey, hopes to change the discussion surrounding Mr. Mackey’s involvement with the blast that killed almost 2000, severely wounding another 9000.

Maybee is confident that Mackey did everything in his power to avoid the accident that day, but explains that “spin is not a new concept,” and that Ottawa used Mackey as a scapegoat for the cause of the explosion.
