Alumni enjoy a drink before the dinner

Eighty-seven Calgary alumni got together on Saturday, May 27, at the Calgary Chapter & Engineering Alumni Lobster Dinner 2017.

After catching up with one another at a cocktail reception, they enjoyed not only lobster flown in from Nova Scotia (or the steak or vegetarian options), but also sides that included salmon, mussels and salads. Speeches by the Dean Dr. Joshua Leon, Faculty of Engineering, and alumnus organizer Joseph Macdonald (MBA’91), among others, brought everyone up-to-date on chapter news.

The dinner took place at the lovely Glencoe Club in Calgary. There were also door prizes: Peter Hatcher (BEng (TUNS)’86) won an umbrella, Ken Bahadur (BEng (TUNS)’79) won a t-shirt, Ralph McNeil (BEng’80) won a TUNS beer mug, Jan Stewart won socks, and Dr. Shiva Eslami (PhD’13) won two entries in the 2017 Engineering Golf Tournament.

The Calgary Alumni Chapter thanks all the organizers, hosts and everyone who came out and helped make this such a successful event!
