We welcome gifts of personal property like books, art, musical instruments, real estate, specialized equipment and more. These and other gifts in kind enrich Dalhousie’s holdings, and benefit our faculties and departments. For a gift of more than $1,000, the receipt issued will be based on a valuation established by an independent appraiser (a gift in kind does not include a gift of services).
For more information on donating personal property to Dalhousie, please contact Diane Robinson at email@example.com or 902.494.6858.
Your gift to Dalhousie could have twice the impact. Many employers have matching gift programs and will match charitable contributions made by their employees. Some companies match gifts made by retirees and/or spouses. Contact your human resources department for more information.
A gift to Dalhousie in your will, also called a bequest, makes a lasting impact. Find out how you can leave a legacy by including Dalhousie in your will.
The following forms provide information on giving the gift of securities.
If you’d prefer to make your gift by e-transfer through your bank, or a wire transfer, please contact Diane Robinson at firstname.lastname@example.org or 902.494.6858 to make arrangements. Diane can also answer questions on securities.

If you do not have such an affiliation with the university, please print a copy of our PDF pledge form and forward as per the instructions enclosed. When you establish or contribute to an endowment or give an annual gift through the Dalhousie Fund, you help to maintain Dalhousie’s financial stability. Endowed funds are those in which the principal of your gift remains intact. A portion of the interest earned on the gift is used each year to support scholarships and bursaries, library materials, academic Chairs, visiting scholar programs, and to advance our academic programs. These gifts continue to pay out in perpetuity and are spent according to the terms established by donors.
Dalhousie Fund gifts are usually designated for one fiscal year, for immediate impact. These annual funds provide support each year for Dalhousie; endowed funds build a strong foundation for the future.
Payroll deduction makes it easy for employees to give to Dal. If you work for Dal currently, or are a retiree, you can have your gift deducted from your pay or pension cheque. For more information, contact Diane Robinson at firstname.lastname@example.org or 902.494.6858.
