Alumna Pam Veinotte (BA’78) is steadfast in her support of Dal. This past year she was included in the cohort of donors inducted into the MacLennan Society, which celebrates alumni and friends who consistently give back to Dalhousie. 

When making her gift to the Performing Arts Campaign, Sheila wanted to pay tribute to her mentors while at the same time ensuring students have modern spaces to practice and rehearse.

Younger alumni are starting a legacy of giving early in their careers — in some cases, not long after graduation. John Parker and Brandon Biluk are two such alumni.

Unexpected help from Dalhousie gave Karen Woolhouse (BSc’65) a life-changing opportunity. Now, with a gift in her will, she’s ensuring others will have the same opportunity she did.

MacLennan Society member Lesley Brechin (BA’90) didn’t set out to create a legacy at Dal, but she is doing exactly that. Her dedicated work and philanthropy to the Fountain School of Performing Arts is shaping the cultural space at Dalhousie, in Halifax and beyond.

Rod MacLennan is the first living Dalhousie alum to reach 50 years of consistent giving to his alma mater. To recognize loyal Dal donors like him, the university launched the MacLennan Society.

Dr. Eldon Smith is remembering the Dalhousie Medical School in his will with a bequest, to give students the same opportunities he once had.

Judy Flecknell (DDS’86) and Jeff Williams (DDS’86) forged strong bonds with Dalhousie and each other. Now they want to honour that connection, and help others through a bequest in their will.

Inspired by the impact of the AC on her life, Sherry Porter is investing in the Agriculture Campus’ next generation of innovators through a gift in her will.
