The Dalhousie Alumni Awards recognize and celebrate members of the Dal alumni community who are making a difference in their communities. We are proud of the accomplishments of our alumni, and want to recognize their contributions to volunteerism, public service, the advancement of Dalhousie, and more.

Make a Nomination

If you know a Dal grad worthy of recognition, nominate them for one of the following awards:

The A. Gordon Archibald Award recognizes alumni for benefiting Dalhousie through volunteerism.

The Volunteerism Award acknowledges alumni whose volunteer efforts have established or supported an important local, regional, national or global program.

The Lifetime Achievement Award celebrates accomplishments of alumni in career and community service.

The Christopher J. Coulter Award shines the spotlight on young alumni who are achieving success in their career, community or personal life.

General Criteria

Each of the awards has specific criteria. At the time of nomination, a nominee must:

  • Be a graduate of Dalhousie
  • Not be serving on the Dalhousie Board of Governors or the Dalhousie Alumni Association Board of Directors
  • Not be a sitting member of a municipal, provincial or federal government

Individual Directors of the Dalhousie Alumni Association (DAA) Board of Directors are not eligible for consideration until 5 years after the completion of their DAA Board service.
