Join fellow alumni and make a positive difference in Winnipeg!

In celebration of our 200th anniversary, and the positive influence of volunteerism throughout the country, Dalhousie has partnered with United Way Winnipeg for a Day of Action on May 11!

Organized Event

Art City is a not-for-profit community art studio dedicated to providing people of all ages with innovative and professional art programming, free of charge. Art City’s primary goal is to provide space and tools for anyone who wishes to express themselves creatively.

For the #DalUnited Day of Action, we invite alumni to volunteer in support of Art City’s 20th Anniversary fundraising event “Art City Mega Flora.” Volunteers will help set up the venue for this event. From displaying decorations to blowing up balloons, there will be lots and lots to do before the party gets underway!

This volunteer opportunity will take place 323 Edwin Street, and will run from 1:00 – 4:00 p.m.

Do-It-Yourself

Volunteers make a vital difference to our communities every day. If you are unable to participate in one of our organized activities, we encourage you to find a way to give back in your community that is convenient and meaningful for you. An opportunity to consider is collecting hygiene items to be distributed to homeless individuals and those at risk of becoming homeless; click here for a list recommended items and details. However you choose to volunteer, we thank you. Don’t forget to share your activities with us at #DalUnited!

Volunteers are encouraged to register online, for both the Art City and Do-It-Yourself initiatives. Please note that space for the Art City initiative is limited.
