Join fellow alumni and make a positive difference in Vancouver!

In celebration of our 200th anniversary, and the positive influence of volunteerism throughout the country, Dalhousie has partnered with United Way Lower Mainland for a Day of Action on May 11!

Organized Event

Earthwise is part of Vancouver’s Delta Food Coalition, which brings together a network of community groups to collaborate on initiatives that address food security by improving access for families and seniors to nutritious, sustainably-grown food necessary for their health and well-being.

Alumni are invited to join Earthwise for a day in the garden on May 11! Construct new garden arches, weed and plant new plants, or label existing ones!

The Earthwise garden is located at 6400, 3rd Ave., Delta, and volunteers are needed for 9:00 a.m. – 2:00 p.m. Don’t forget to pack your lunch!

Do-It-Yourself

Volunteers make a vital difference to our communities every day. If you are unable to participate in one of our organized activities, we encourage you to find a way to give back in your community that is convenient and meaningful for you. An opportunity to consider is collecting items for hygiene kits that will then be distributed to persons in need, including women and children escaping abuse, isolated seniors, and persons living below the poverty line throughout the Lower Mainland; click here for details and a list of items most in need. However you choose to volunteer, we thank you. Don’t forget to share your activities with us at #DalUnited!

Volunteers are encouraged to register online, for both the Earthwise and Do-It-Yourself initiatives. Please note that space for the Earthwise initiative is limited.
