Global Homecoming map and compass

Event Details

On Thursday, October 19 enjoy great food, and a special toast to Dalhousie’s upcoming 200th Anniversary in the company of old friends before embarking on an optional guided tour of the Responsive International Light Art Project! View several of the incredible public installations within the city’s core—created by artists from around the globe—and receive a special gift!

The reception will be held in Halifax Hall at City Hall from 5:30 – 7:00 p.m. where we will raise a glass to Dalhousie’s bicentennial before optional guided tours depart from City Hall at 7:00 p.m. Get updates from the university and celebrate being part of the global alumni community in the company of old friends and our special guests.

We are excited to offer some great prizes for this year’s event:

At the Door:

Attend the event and enter for your chance to don a Dalhousie scarf, enjoy your favourite drink from your new pewter Dal stein, or showcase your Dal pride on your desk with an engraved brass marine compass!

Across the Globe:

Event attendees across our Global Homecoming network will be entered to win a grand prize of coffee with our President and Vice-Chancellor, Dr. Richard Florizone when you visit our Halifax campus and enjoy a free two-night stay for four in our newest residence building.
(Prize may also be redeemed as a four-night stay for two; coffee with Dr. Florizone contingent on availability).
