Event Details

Dalhousie’s IBA team invites you to mix and mingle with us following the IBA trophy ceremony along with fellow alumni, competing teams and the community of industry professionals. We will be celebrating the accomplishments of this year’s seven competing IBA teams including our Dalhousie house team (Dawson Energy).

The Imperial Barrel Award (IBA) is an annual intensive petroleum-based competition by undergraduate and graduate geoscientists from universities across Canada. Participants use real-world datasets to demonstrate their knowledge of the local stratigraphy, structure, and petroleum system and identify an efficient production strategy. The teams pitch to a panel of industry professionals, competing for first place and the chance to represent Canada at an international competition.
