In celebration of our 200th anniversary, and the positive influence of volunteerism throughout the country, Dalhousie has partnered with United Way Calgary for a Day of Action on May 11!

Calgary Urban Project Society – Stampeders Kickoff Breakfast

The Calgary Urban Project Society (CUPS) uses integrated healthcare, education, and housing to assist adults and families in Calgary living with the adversity of poverty and trauma. On May 11th, the Calgary Stampeders are hosting their annual Stampeders Kickoff Breakfast in support of CUPS. Volunteers have the opportunity to “join the team” and help the players host the breakfast!

This volunteer opportunity will take place at the Hyatt Regency Hotel Downtown (7th Ave. & Centre Street), and will run from 6:30 – 9:00 a.m.

Women in Need Society – Donation Sorting

The Women in Need Society (WINS) is looking for assistance at their distribution centre to help sort and organize donations. Founded in 1992, WINS is Calgary’s homegrown thrift charity which provides basic needs to women in poverty and their families.

This volunteer opportunity will take place at the WINS distribution centre (1220, 28th Street NE), and will run from 1:00 – 4:00 p.m.

Do-It-Yourself

Volunteers make a vital difference to our communities every day. If you are unable to participate in one of our organized activities, we encourage you to find a way to give back in your community that is convenient and meaningful for you. However you choose to volunteer, we thank you. Don’t forget to share your activities with us at #DalUnited!

Volunteers are encouraged to register online, for all volunteer roles, including Do-It-Yourself initiatives. Please note that space for the Stampeders Breakfast and Women In Need Society sorting is limited.
