Seema Dosaj looks forward to semi-retirement after career in family medicine
Seema Dosaj (BSc’85, MD’90) completed her family medicine residency at McGill after which she joined the Montréal General Hospital’s emergency room and Department of Psychiatry as staff for several years. For over a decade, Seema served as an examiner for the CCFP and as a SOO examiner for the LMCC/MCC licensing examinations.
Alexander and Christine, Dal Med class of 66
Alexander Sandy Macdonald (MD”66) moved to Fredericton, NB. He practiced family medicine at the Fredericton Medical Clinic for three years. Then he moved to London, Ontario, where he studied orthopedic surgery at Western University for four years then returned to Fredericton. He practiced until retirement in December 2011.
Ernest Johnson still practicing full time
Ernest Johnson (BSCM’81) continues to practice full-time looking after his approximately 900 patients who have an average age of 65. Some patients he has looked after for decades and they are no longer patients, they are family. Ernest is not ready to retire yet as his patients need him more with this pandemic continuing unbridled.
Creating a voice and stage for front-line research
Cora Cole (MSc’00) is the founder and CEO of GreyLit Inc. a publishing platform that allows front-line research and information to be searched, shared, reviewed and collaborated on around the world.

Noted Canadian songwriter, lyricist and composer – and practicing doctor – Robert Thomas Evans (BSc’79, MD’83, PGM’91) leaves Music Publishing to form a new band, releasing new, original tunes.
Dr Julie Curwin has Book Published
Dr Julie Curwin (BSc’90, MD’97) has recently published a book of short fiction entitled “The Appendage Formerly Known as Your Left Arm” with Boularderie Island Press in Cape Breton.
Dr. John Brewer recognized with Award of Excellence
Dr. John Brewer (PGM’84), has been recognized as a 2019 recipient of an Award of Excellence. Dr. Brewer was also a former Dalhousie staff member as the Unit Director of the Family Medicine Teaching Unit from 1995 to 2005.

Dr. Alan R. Hebb (MD’59) was awarded a silver medal by the Chicago Philatelic Society (Chicagopex) in 2016. He is a retired internist in Burlington, Ont. with a special interest in the hobby of collecting vintage postcards.
