Two accomplished Black lawyers have been named judges on the Nova Scotia provincial and family court. The appointments of Aleta Cromwell and Perry Borden were announced Thursday by the provincial Justice Department.

A book project about women in N.S. politics
Schulich School of Law student, Sarah Dobson (BA’17) and Grace Evans (political science student) are creating a book about the 50 women elected to Nova Scotia’s legislature.

Advocating for transparency in medical research
Matthew Herder (LLB’03, LLM’06), director of the Health Law Institute at Dalhousie, is an advocate for transparency in medical research. While Canada is now sharing clinical study reports online as does the E.U., lawyers and independent researchers are urging the U.S. to follow suit.
