Two alumni inducted into Discovery Centre’s Science Hall of Fame
Dr. Peter Allen (BEng (NSTC)’75, PhD (TUNS)’84) and Dr. William Howard Feindel (MSc’42) were inducted into the Discovery Centre’s Science Hall of Fame at the 15th Annual Discovery Awards. Dr. Jordan Kyriakidis (BSc’93, MSc’95) and Dr. Travis McDonough (BScK’94) were among the Discovery Awards finalists.
Six Dal connections honoured as Top 25 Immigrants in the Maritimes

Joshua Green (BEng’13) and Uytae Lee (BCD’16) recognized for sustainability leadership. Green created smart thermostat Mysa to reduce energy consumption and Lee for informing citizens through his PLANifax project.

Joe Randell (BEng’76, LLD’15) of Chorus Aviation Inc. is EY Entrepreneur Of The Year™ 2017 Atlantic. Randall partners with Dalhousie engineering to foster entrepreneurial spirit among students.
Alumni win prestigious Vanier Canada Graduate Scholarships
Allison Chua (BEng’11, MASc’14) and Timothy Disher (BSc’11, BScN’14) will receive $50,000 annually for three years to support their doctoral research projects, focused on optimizing autonomous underwater vehicles and assessing single family room care in Canadian NICUs, respectively.
