Divas of Colour names Alshazly Entrepreneur of the Year
Principal and Chief Creative Officer at WeUsThem Faten Alshazly (BScCS’99) is the Divas of Colour International Women’s Forum‘s Entrepreneur of the Year. This award recognizes some of the world’s highest achieving leaders in diverse sectors, honouring women of colour for their outstanding achievements as they navigated challenging circumstances during the pandemic.
Faten has been recognized for her outstanding achievements, her creative excellence and inclusive leadership four times this year alone, being named WXN Canada’s Most Powerful Women: Top 100, one of the Top 25 Atlantic Women in Business along with the Women get on Board Award for Eastern Canada. From advocating for workforce diversity to mentoring mid-senior executives and women reintegrating into the workforce, Faten is helping pave the way for young professionals and seasoned leaders through numerous networks like the Women’s Executive Network, Women in STEM, Women In Technology and the Women’s Employment Outreach.
“Seeing the growing influence of women of colour globally in entrepreneurship, cause based initiatives and social enterprises who are pioneers, mentors, creators of opportunities for other women, and who make important contributions to our communities through their leadership is truly inspiring,” she said. “I am honoured to receive this award alongside other outstanding and inspiring Divas of Colour.”
The Divas of Colour forum connects over 500 professional and entrepreneurial women of colour from around the world and celebrates their achievements to create a more inclusive environment and inspire the next generation of entrepreneurs in a post-pandemic world.
